Michael Gene Dove (1952-2022)

Michael Gene Dove ''Mikie'' was born November 2, 1952, in Waco, Texas and passed away March 15, 2022. He passed peacefully at Home surrounded by his Loved ones.
Michael was married to Bethea Lee Dove, and June of 2022, would have been their 49th anniversary. Their love story started before they were married, June 7, 1973. His contagious laugh, charm, and witty sense of humor made them inseparable and will undoubtedly be left as ''to be continued.''
Mikie's legacy will continue through his family, friends, and anyone who has ever met him. Mikie and his personality is unforgettable, and he is truly one of a kind!

During his free time, Mikie enjoyed playing sports, especially golf; and you could always catch him in a loving fishing competition on any of the local fishing spots with the ones he cared the most about! Not only did he enjoy playing sports, but what meant the most was getting to see his Son and Grandson enjoy the same games that made his already big heart that much more larger than life! Mikie now has the best seat in the house and will be watching right there with us!

Mikie retired from the McLennan County Sheriff's Department July 31, 2008, after serving the county for 21 years and 8 months. Many Deputies and office personnel, present and retired, have stayed in contact on a personal level.

Before the Sheriff's Department, Mikie worked offshore Drilling and could not wait to share a story or two about his experience. No matter what he was doing in life, Mikie enjoyed good conversation, good coffee, and you could bet smiling from ear to ear.
He had many unique catch phrases. A few that mean the most to his family, ultimately defines what meant the most to Him. ''Together like Weather'' and ''I love you mostest'' let you know just how much he cared about you, and everything was going to be alright!

Mikie is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Lloyd Dove and Sue Robinson Gordon, his brother Jimmy Don Dove, and his two children Trinity Neal Dove and Toni Lynn Dove. He is survived by his wife, Bethea Lee Dove, his son Travis Gene Dove, his brother Bennie Lloyd Dove, his grandchildren Rhyder Lee Dove and KaiLynn Marie Diaz, and many, many more family and friends. There will be a Celebration in the near future to honor Mikie's life.
