Mildred Glassie, 98 of Bellmead passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at a local nursing home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 30 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom McCollister and Rev. Barry Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 29 at the funeral home. Mildred was born July 4, 1913 in Cleburne to Allen and Lula (McCain) Brown. Mildred was a past member of Bellmead 1st. Baptist Church and member of Timber Crest Baptist Church, volunteer for Red Cross and Meals on Wheels, worked at H.O.T. Fair for the Ladies Auxiliary and the Keenage Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Finis Glassie, brother, Paul Brown and sister, Vernon Lawler. Survivors include her sons, Fred and wife Carol Glassie of Bedford, Neil and wife Kay Glassie of Lewisville and Leon Glassie of Waco, brother, David Brown of Burleson; 5 grandchildren, Brad Glassie, Eric Glassie, Brittany Maher, Delayne Mack and Darla Briggs: 8 great-great-grandchildren: several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Harry Mack, Mat Briggs, Brad Glassie, Eric Glassie, Larry Maher and Robert Birdow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels and the American Red Cross.
