Myra Beth Callaway, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016.
Services will be 10 am Monday, June 6, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Ernie Christie officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calm Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 7 pm Sunday, June 5 at the funeral home.Myra was born October 9, 1920 in Dawson, Texas to D. L. and Jeffie Lula (Cook) Fussell. She graduated from Mount Calm High School and North Texas State University with a Master's Degree in education. She taught at Prairie Hill, Gholson Elementary where she coached girls' basketball, Belin, New Mexico and Pecos. She also taught at Hill Junior College and McLennan Community College (MCC) until retiring from MCC in 1981 after 30 years of service. During WWII, she worked for the State Department in Washington D.C. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and gardening. Myra was a member of Lake Shore Church of Christ.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen Jack Callaway; her daughter, Linda Jean McRae; and sister, Mildred Fussell.Survivors include her children, Steven Callaway and wife, Caroline of Houston, Bonnie Alexander and husband, David of Colorado, Nancy Upchurch of Colorado, Lois Ward of Gholson and son-in-law, Ervin McRae of China Spring; her grandchildren, Chris Callaway and wife, Lauren, Kyle Callaway and wife, Sharayah, Brad Alexander, Megan Alexander, Michele Walts and husband, John, Christy Erin McRae, Jeremy West, Kelley Dominguez and husband, Jesse, Alex Ward and wife, Nicole and Andy Ward; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jase, Cameron, Kourtney and husband, Gary, Jesse and wife, Brenna, Krysten, Cole, Rio, Noah, Raine and Nick; one great-great-grandchild, Reagan.
