Nancy Sue Blankenship, 68 of Waco


It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Blankenship, age 68, on July 12, 2024. Nancy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.

Nancy Blankenship was born on September 14, 1955,in Waco, TX to Arthur and Janie Engelke.She spent her childhood in Houston and later moved to Gholson during her teenage years where she attended West High School. Nancy was known for her diverse skills and abilities, but her most cherished role was that of a grandmother and great grandmother. She had a deep love for her family and made it a point to attend every sporting event and school program that she could.

Nancy is preceded in death by her Father Arthur Engelke, Mother Janie Engelke, brother's in-law Karl Ellis, sister-in-law Serena Engelke, Dwayne Young and Jack Davis.

Nancy is survived by her siblings Kathy Strickland and husband Willie, Buddy Engelke and wife Mary, Brenda Ellis, Peggy Buzbee and husband Tommy, Christine Young, Judy Davis, and Margaret Taylor and husband Jeff.
She is also survived by her children Paul Engelke, Julie Blankenship, Becky Hughes, and husband Wesley. Grandchildren Breanna Skopik and husband Matthew, Kelby Sultemeier and wife Lacie, Lexie Hughes, and Holten Hughes. Great Grandchildren, Kayden, Owen, Leah, Jillian and Greyson, Bonus daughters Sarah Jesko and husband Brian, Ellen Hart and husband John along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Nancy's unwavering dedication to her family, warm smile, and sassy personality will be missed by all who knew her.
