Nelda Dean Smith White, 88, of Waco, passed away Friday, August 1, in Belton. Services will be 2 pm, Monday August 4, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Wilkirson officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 6 pm Sunday, August 3 at the funeral home. Nelda was born April 21, 1926 in Waco, Texas, to Joe Blandford and Allie Pearl (Tanner) Smith. She married Cecil Evert White on June 4, 1941 in Waco and they had three sons. Nelda worked her entire married life until retiring in 1985. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Oak Lawn Baptist Church. She and Cecil spent their Golden years traveling and camping with their favorite group of people, The Tejas Travelers, with whom they were charter members. Nelda was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; her sister, Jimmie Francis Smith Hammons; granddaughter, Sherry Diane May White Meadows; and great-grandson, Jonathan Hayes. Survivors include her sons, Larry White and wife, Glory of Many, Louisiana, Gary White and wife, Shirley of Troy and Jimmy White and wife, Kathy of Bellmead; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
