Nolan Saulter
March 17, 1941 - March 17, 2022

Nolan Leonard Saulter Sr. of Riesel Texas was born March 17, 1941 to William David Saulter Sr. and Mary Katrena Saulter in Crawford Texas and passed away peacefully with his family by his side under the wonderful care of Providence Hospice Place in Waco Texas on March 17, 2022. Visitation will be held at Bellmead Funeral Home located at 809 La Clede Street Waco Texas on Monday March 21, 2022. Services will also be held at Bellmead Funeral Home on March 22, 2022 2:00 pm with Brother Jeff Stinson officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Nolan attended Waco Schools until the 10th grade when he left and traveled to the west Texas area to pick cotton. He eventually returned home and later became an insurance salesman for American National Insurance where he received the top sales award in a particular year. Nolan worked for Sears Roebuck as a fence builder for several years.
Life eventually led Nolan to meeting Earnestine Puryear who changed his life for the better. Even though they were never married, these two had an inseparable bond that would last many years. Daddy helped care for Earnestine up until her final day here on Earth.
Nolan had several hobbies to include hunting racoons, messing with his roosters, fishing, and spending time with one of his best friends Maurice Montgomery. Daddy took pride in raising his roosters and dogs. He won several derby's over the years with his roosters. Nolan won many area competition hunts including the State Racoon Hunt which landed him a trip to Tennessee to the World Hunt. Nolan shared his love for his roosters and hunting dogs not only with his children but his grandchildren as well. Nolan eventually took up dancing and would attend the senior dances all over Waco where he made many friends and shared lots of stories. Daddy became a dedicated member at Church of the Redeemed where made several new friends and accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into his heart.
He was preceded in death by his life partner Earnestine Puryear, his parents William David and Mary Saulter, granddaughters Amanda Saulter, Cheyenne Saulter, and his siblings Olan Saulter, Elvis, Willie Dee, Ruby, Fern and Mary.
Survivors include sons Nolan L. Saulter Jr. and wife Theresa of Alabama, William C. Saulter of Mart Texas, Ray L. Saulter and wife Melissa of Axtell Texas, Wesley R. Saulter and wife Karen of Allen Oklahoma, daughters Leigh Ann Holloway and husband Michael of Riesel Texas, Kathy Puryear Knapp of Riesel, Grandchildren Garrett Saulter and wife Alexandra, Sarah Smith and husband Terrence, Ty Saulter, Shelby Saulter, Kristopher Saulter-Holloway, Dixie Saulter-Holloway, Abigale Holloway, Joseph Malinowski, great grandchildren Ashton Saulter, Allison Saulter, Zoeyy Tegge, Grayson Saulter, Rhynlee Saulter, and Branson Saulter-Holloway, his brother William David Saulter and wife Betty, sisters Jobretta Curtis, Yvonne Hollister and husband Mike.
