Nora Mildred Coggin, 101, of Axtell, passed away Sunday, December 1, at a local hospital. Services will be 11 am Wednesday, December 4 at Northside Church of Christ with Rusty Kwast officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mrs. Coggin was born April 25, 1912 in Ivan, Texas to Leonidas P. and Zella M. (Wright) Kidd. She married Clyde C. (Ike) Coggin on January 21, 1927 in Ft. Stockton, TX, she was a homemaker and a member of Northside Church of Christ. During WWII and Korean Conflict she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" on B52 aircraft while living in San Diego, California for ROHR Aircraft Corp. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Juanita L. Martin in 2004; grandson, James C. Martin; 4 sisters, Elizabeth Arnold, Thelma Webb, Laura Webb and Pauline Coggin; and brother, Eckford Kidd. Survivors include her, daughter, Mary Ruth Coggin of Axtell; sons, Clyde Coggin Jr. of Castroville and Ervis Gayle Coggin of San Angelo; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
