Patricia Ann (Matthews) Ratley, 78, of Axtell, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 21st at Grace Gospel Church located at 4385 E. Old Axtell Rd. Axtell, TX. 76624, with Rev. Johnny Tull and Rev. Joe Gingerich officiating. Internment services will follow at 2:00pm at Rosemound Cemetery. Patricia was born July 22, 1936 in Corsicana, Texas to Hunter and Onie Mae (Mayfield) Matthews. She married Robert L. "Bob" Ratley on June 5, 1954 in Rodessa, Louisiana. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to serving God, pasturing the Church with her husband and mentoring many church families. She believed that serving God meant serving the Family of God. Patricia devoted her life to a supportive ministry behind the scenes, however no less valued by her family and the lives she touched. She was a Master Artist, leaving behind many beautiful paintings that vividly expressed her perception of God's creation. She was also gifted in hospitality and had no rival in the kitchen! Patricia was a member of Grace Gospel Church for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob Ratley; a daughter, Pattie Lynn Ratley; and a brother, LD Matthews. Survivors include her sons, Robert Dee Ratley of Axtell and Dwaine L. Ratley and his wife, Lucretia of Corpus Christi, their children, Rachael and Patti and their grandchildren, Chrystal and Keely; her youngest daughter Sandra C. Michael and her husband, Monte of Axtell, their children, Robert, Michael, Eric, Ruth, Isaac and Andrew and their grandchildren, Ashley, Dillon, Serenity and Rex; her sisters, Lela Faye Ratley of Donie and Rosiland Marie Knox of Kilgore; several beloved nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends and church families. Memorials may be made and sent to Grace Gospel Church at P.O. Box 407 Axtell, TX. 76624.
