R.B. Williams, 87, of Waco passed away Sunday, January 4, 2008 at a local nursing home. Services will be 2:30 pm Wednesday January 7 at 1st Baptist Church Robinson with Rev. Michael Moore officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12:30 pm Wednesday at 1st Baptist Church Robinson before the services. R. B. was born January 8, 1921 in DeLeon, TX to G. B. and Clemmie (Guy) Williams. He served in the Air Force 36th Division during WWII and the Korea Conflict, retired as a Master Sergeant after 24 years and received the Purple Heart. He then worked at the Waco V. A. Hospital for 16 years. R. B. served as a deacon at 1st Baptist Church Robinson. He was preceded in death by his wife Omie Williams on January 1, 2002, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his daughters Shirley Gossman of Godley and Judy Halmess and husband Chuck of North Carolina, son Steve Williams and wife Keri of Robinson, sister Vannie Vett, brother Arnold Williams and his special friend Allene Brown of Lorena 7 grandchildren, Teri Rodgers, Tracy Moss, Jeff Grossman, Joe Halmess, Amanda Henson, Lindsey Williams and Whitney Williams 10 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
