Raymond Arthur Finn, 88, of Bellmead, passed away Sunday, July 22 at a local hospital. Services will be 10 am Thursday, July 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead with Father Timothy Vaverek officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery in Tours. Rosary will be at 7 pm Wednesday, July 25 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to follow. Raymond was born September 8, 1923, in Riesel, Texas to Arthur and Wilhelmina (Fedro) Finn. He proudly served his country and was discharged from the Army Air Corps in 1946. He married Adeline Uptmore on October 8, 1944 in Tours, Texas and enjoyed 67 years together. Raymond was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead for 61 years where he and his wife were one of the many hard working families, that contributed to the start up of the church in the 50's. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7202. He was a charter member of Geneva Hall and worked there for many years. Raymond was also a member of KJT and received his 50 year pin in November 2011. He retired from Pure Milk Co. in 1988 after 40 years of service. After retirement, Raymond invested in rental properties and worked at St. Joseph Catholic Church for 16 years. He enjoyed traveling, especially going to casinos. He never met a stranger, loved to tell jokes and everyone loved him. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Willie Mae Winkelman; and an infant son. Survivors include his wife, Adeline Finn of Bellmead; children, Donald Finn and wife, Lucy of Robinson, Darlene Schneider and husband, John of Beeville, Gail Sinkule and Sherrie Finn both of Waco; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Uptmore, Earnest Uptmore Jr., Donnie Finn, Daryl Sinkule, Scott Schneider and Ryan Finn.
