Rebecca (Becky) Kathrine Thomson: A Life of Love, Laughter, and Legacy
Rebecca "Becky" Kathrine Thomson, a beloved mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Waco, Texas, on September 8, 2024. She was 90 years old.
Born in Henrietta, Texas, on April 5, 1934, Becky was raised in a close-knit family, instilling in her the values of hard work and perseverance that she carried throughout her life.
Becky moved to Paris, Missouri, where she opened The Southern Belle Tavern. Becky's infectious smile, quick wit, and genuine warmth made the tavern a cherished gathering place.
Becky was more than a successful businesswoman; she was an active member of the Paris community, always ready to lend a hand. Above all, she treasured her family, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, sons Freddie and Timothy Marshall, grandson Dustin Delaney, and step-granddaughter Shantai Lemanski. She is survived by her children: Bobby Marshall of Waco, Texas; Tammy Morgan of Paris, Missouri; Cindy Miller (Donald) of Waco, Texas; Elizabeth (Bliss) Lemanski (Thomas) of Lacy Lakeview, Texas; Christi Wade of Beverly Hills, Texas; and stepdaughter Carla Gartner (Mark) of Monroe City, Missouri; her grandchildren: Toby Miller (Shelly) of Waco, Texas; Dena Miller (Brian) of Waco, Texas; Dewayne Marshall of Waco, Texas; Jamie Marshall of Cairo, Missouri; Bobbi Lynn Morgan of Seattle, Washington; and Deija Morgan of Columbia, Missouri; two step-grandchildren: Amanda Cheely and Zachary Cheely of Monroe City, Missouri; and a host of great- and great-great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
A service to celebrate Becky's life will be held at Bellmead Funeral Home in Bellmead, Texas, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
