Robert "Bob" Barnes Byars, 62, long time resident of Bellmead passed away Thursday March 24, 2011 at his residence. Memorial services will be 4 to 6 pm Saturday, April 9 at Country Junction, I-35 N. Exit 342A in Elm Mott go � mile on right. Bob was born March 1, 1949 in Steubenville, Ohio to Fred Wallace and Mary Ann (McQueen) Byars. He attended High School in Oklahoma City and moved to Waco in 1972, attended TSTI and received a degree in commercial art and advertising and trained in photography. Bob worked as an artist/photographer at TSTI for 13 years, was plant manager at Amaco Products for 5 years and did free lance photography for several years before retiring. All through his life Bob had a passion for fine art, painting, photography and fishing. After retiring he collected antiques and was often found at the Flea Market with many friends. When Bob was very young and living in Germany with his parents he was featured in Life Magazine and later in life went to the Philippines to help establish a library and museum. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his brothers, Barry Byars of Bellmead and Bruce Byars of China Spring; niece Laura Byars of Waco; nephew Brandon Byars of China Spring; aunts Margie Thomas of TN, Mildred Sterling of WA, Clara Swindle of TX, and John L. Byars Alldredge of TX; uncles Pat McQueen of Waco and Glenn Byars of NE; several cousins and many good friends. Bob's wisdom, friendliness and love of family and friends will be deeply missed.
