Ruby Evelyn Howze, 73, of Chilton, went to be with the Lord, just before noon on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Services will be 11 am Saturday, August 31 at the Country Worship Cowboy Church, FM 935, near Durango, with Rev. Robert Finto and Rev. Syd Blackman officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday, August 30, at Bellmead Funeral Home. Ruby was born September 23, 1939 in Durango, Texas to William Raymond and Mary Lillian (Smith) Blackman. She was a McLennan County Deputy Clerk until retiring after 13 years of service. Ruby was fun loving, outgoing and never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking, going to church and taking care of her 3 dogs, Missy, Tiny and Harley. Her greatest love was her family and traveling with her husband. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Darryl Howze who passed away August 27, 2011. Survivors include her husband, James Howze of Chilton; her son, James David Howze of Lorena; and granddaughter, Courtney Howze of Lorena.
