Ruby Nell Evans, 89, of Waco went to be with her Lord on June 13, 2024 at the Atrium of Bellmead care facility. Visitation will be held 9:00 am to 10:00 am Monday, June 17, 2024, with the service to begin at 10 am at the Bellmead Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Ruby was born April 24, 1935 in Dawson, TX to Leonard and Estelle Allcorn. She was raised in Hubbard. She married Billy Eugene Evans, also of Hubbard, in October of 1951. Together, they raised four children; Gene, Bobby, Jimmy, and Julie.

Ruby and Billy settled in Waco to raise their family. Ruby worked part time at Providence Hospital, a local garment factory as a seamstress, and at Exporters & Traders Compress while raising her family. Later, Ruby operated a daycare from her home when her own children were grown. Lastly she worked for Sam's Club as a product demonstrator.

A lifelong servant of Jesus Christ, she served as a bible class teacher for many years at Northside Church of Christ in Bellmead.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Estelle; brothers Carl Junior, Lynn Ray; husband Billy; and son Bobby.

Survivors include son Gene and wife Dana; daughter-in-law Debbie; son Jimmy; daughter Julie Randolph; brother James Allcorn; sisters Mandy Woods, and Ruth Lehmann and husband Eddie Ray; sister-in-law Anita Carter; brother-in-law Tommy Evans; grandchildren Jeremy Evans, Crystal Evans and fiance,Corey Morgan, Michelle Threadgill and husband Jackson, Brian Evans, Amanda Biskup and husband Tyler, Chase Randolph; great-grandchildren Mason Evans, Tarina Evans, Xavier Juandiego and wife Sam Lopez, Eliana Juandiego, Lucina Threadgill; and great-great-grandson Jaymeson Orton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the staff of the Atrium of Bellmead for the compassionate care provided to Ruby over the last eight years. We additionally thank the staff of Halcyon for their care and support in Ruby's last days.
