Sara Thomas

Sara Kay Benedittine – Thomas was born in Waco on October 6, 1953 to Buster Benedittine and Elowene Cox. She passed away on December 26, 2024 in a local nursing home.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM with visitation and service to follow at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Kerry Groce will be officiating.

Sara’s family moved to Axtell in 1962 and attended Axtell school. She lived most of her life on the home place in Axtell.

She loved to fish and went with her Dad on many fishing trips. Sara worked at the Prairie Hill Drag Strip for several years. She loved her animals, dogs, cats, and even chickens and a opossum or two. Her beloved dog Joker, died many years ago but she thought about him often.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Buster & Elowene Cox Benedittine; brother, Robert Benedittine.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Lynn Moore and Bobbie’s dad Dennis Moore; sister, Rose Ann Curtis, brother, Larry Don Benedittine Sr. and his son Larry, Jr.; niece Karen Tucker & husband Kenny Tucker and their children Korbin & Kaylee and granddaughter Kasyn; nephew, Kevin Curtis & daughter Kacie Carter & Kristian Carter. Sara also leaves behind three cats Thelma, Red & Pearl who misses her dearly.

Sara is at rest now after her battle with cancer. She will be missed deeply.
