Shirley Ann Trice Swank, of Lorena, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 am Friday, April 1, 2022 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Marshall and Rev. Robert Buchanan officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the funeral home.
Shirley was born July 15, 1937 in Lorena, Texas to Charlie F. and Ruth (Attaway) Trice. She graduated from Lorena High School in 1955. She married Olan Swank on September 23, 1961 and worked at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital. In 1976 they moved to Dallas and she worked at Duncanville ISD in the cafeteria. In 1992 they returned to Waco and she worked as a sub at La Vega ISD cafeteria for over 5 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Rebecca Lodge. They attended church at 1st Baptist of Dallas, Lorena United Methodist Church, Oaklawn Baptist Church, Faith Temple and Crossroads Baptist Churches of Lorena. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olan and her sister, Lois Warren. Survivors include her daughters, Lee Ann Swank and companion Brad Dennis and Sharon Swank;  Sisters-in-law, Janet Schultz and her husband Al and Joyce Swank;Grandchildren, Kathryn McMahan, Maddie Burney and husband Will,  Rainey Davis and husband Randall,  Honorary great grandchildren, Ellie Burney, Ivie and Journie Davis; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to express a special a Thank you to her caregiver Barbara Glaze and all the Staff of The Community Healthcare of Texas Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Association, Fuzzy Friends, or Dementia Association.
