Stephanie Denise Suri , went to be with her Lord on June 17, 2010. Services will be 10 am Saturday, June 26 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Cox officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday June 25 at the funeral home. Stephanie was born December 23, 1965 in Wichita Falls, Texas to William and Helen (Crow) Suri. She attended Connally High School and graduated in 1984 from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas. After graduation she joined the National Guard and attended McLennan Community College and Mary Hardin Baylor University before joining the Army and proudly serving her country during Desert Storm. She was an expert marksman with the M16 and learned to rappel in Mexico. During her service in the Army she developed a neurological disorder which led to a steady decline in her health. After being honorably discharged from the Army, she attended Texas State Technical College and was on the deans list while majoring in OSHA. She enjoyed speaking to groups about the dangers of drugs and took great pride in assisting and showing compassion for the disabled and elderly. Although her greatest joy was in studying the Word of God and imparting her understanding to all she met. She was preceded in death by her nephew Ty Gurganus II, step-brother Mitchell Ridling both of Lorena, grandparents and great grandparents. She is survived by her mother Helen Reading of Bellmead, father and step-mother Bill and Harriet Suri of New Mexico, brother Scot Suri and his sons Jake and Miles of Colorado, sister and brother-in-law Stacy and David Fair and their children Mindy and Rayne of Lorena, step-brothers Ray of Arlington and Andy Ridling of Maryland, step-sister Amy Hartig of Lorena, uncle and aunt John and Chelleye Crow of Lewisville, extended family Mike, Rene & Mace Weir of Lorena, and lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those she helped along.
