Tennie E. Baxter, of Waco, TX, passed into the loving arms of her savior on Monday, May 20, 2024. Memorial services will be held at TK's Rustic Ranch Event Center, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11am.Tennie was born June 6, 1928, in Madill, OK, to Virgil Cornelius Collins and Ruby Love Collins. She made the Waco/Bosqueville area her home for the last 60 years. Tennie was known by many, from her years of running the Northcrest Preschool followed by the Gingerbread Hut. Through her career in early childhood development, she raised and taught countless children, their children and even their grandchildren. She loved spending time with her husband, Ken, and their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed family boating trips to the lake or the coast, even though she never learned to swim. Tennie spent her retirement years bringing as much joy to others as she could. She did this through serving her church and the Sul Ross center where she volunteered and danced every Thursday night. Tennie loved outings, tea parties and visiting with loved ones. Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Baxter. She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Stewart and son-in-law Daniel Stewart, daughter Rosemary Barrios and son-in-law Randy Barrios, grandsons Gabe Crye and Justin Crye, granddaughter-in-law Beckah Crye, granddaughter Erin M. Clark and grandson-in-law Samuel Clark and many wonderful grandkids, great grandkids& friends.
