Thelma Modell Belcher White born December 11,1914 in Waco, Texas, daughter of Maggie Mosley Belcher and William Ernest Belcher, joined the Heavenly Angels June 13, 2012. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Bodenhamer officiating. Burial will be at White Rock Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Friday, June 15 at the funeral home.On July 4, 1931, Thelma married C.W. White. Thelma attended school in West and Waco. Thelma first taught Sunday School at the age of 14 at Turner Street Baptist Church and taught at the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott until age 95. She was the Church Clerk for 30 years, assisted in organizing the Sunday Evening Bible Study and served on all the church committees, was active with the Church quilters, President of the W. M. U. Volunteer for Connally School Parenting Program, Honorary member of the Elm Mott Fire Dept. She loved to play 42 cards, and roasting her friends on the fifth Sunday which attests to her unique wit and sense of humor. With all her heart she loved serving her Savior and spending time with her family who she loved dearly. She came to love everyone at St. Catherine where she lived until the end of her life. She read the Bible to blind residents, while at the same time her vision was failing. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. White, son, C.W. White, Jr., grandson Michael Wayne White, granddaughter Lee Ann White, great-grandson, Joe Paul Jones and son-in-law C.P. Brasher Jr. There is already an empty place in the hearts of her children; Jo Gifford and husband Dick of Waco, Delores Brasher of Waco, B.R. "Buck" White and wife Carol of Ft. Worth, Benny H. White and wife Sue of Waco, Louise Ingram and husband Bill of Waco, Donald H. White and wife Cindy of Ashdown, Arkansas, Thomas "Tommy" E. White and wife Deana of Ross, TX., Terry L. White and wife Amber of Huntsville; 88 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Robert White, Darrell White, Billy Don Ingram, Jeffrey Ingram, Donald Wayne White, Caleb White and Colton White. A most heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, compassionate third floor staff at St. Catherine's and the Fourth Floor South Nursing Staff at the Providence Hospital for their loving care and support, and a special thanks to Dr. Elwell and to her long time physican Dr. James Copland..
