Theodore A. Busch ''Papa'', 88, of Lacy-Lakeview was called home to Heaven on Monday, October 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 3, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 2, at the funeral home.

Papa was born on December 6, 1934 to Hugo and Matilda (Tessman) Busch in Hamilton, Texas. As one of the hardest workers that anyone has ever met, Papa proudly worked for Lone Star Gas Company for 37 years. Upon his retirement from the gas company, he continued to serve his friends and community as a contractor, handyman, and general guru of how to fix any problem with enough creativity and duct tape until he was 70. Papa was a dedicated servant and friend to all who knew him and was willing to drop whatever he was doing to help anyone in need. As a long-time member of Richfield Christian Church, he worked hard to live his life in a godly manner. Papa lived his life adhering to a series of strict norms and values, and was always more than willing to share his knowledge and wisdom with anyone who asked.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Ernest, William, Paul, and Edward Busch, and his sister Anna Schmidt; and his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie ''Gigi'' Busch. He is survived by his children, Teresa Copeland and husband, Jim, Charles Busch, Amy Yost and husband, Robert III ''Bob'', and David Busch and wife, Tisha; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that mourners take a moment to live as Papa would have - tell a ''short'' story, drink a cup of coffee, and have a plain cake donut from Shipley's.
