Velma Rae Bohara passed away on May 20, 2017 at Cape Fear Hospice in North Carolina. A family memorial was held for her in Shallotte, North Carolina. She will be buried in Axtell Cemetery, Axtell, Texas on Wednesday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m.

Velma was born to Newton and Alice Ingram on June 6, 1932 in Limestone County. She leaves behind two daughters, Rose Ann Sinay of North Carolina and Tammy Rohlf of New York; and one son, Stephen Bohara of Texas. Velma is survived by three sisters: Flo Turner, Peggy Sue Allgood, and Hazel Wilkerson, all of Texas.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 41 years, Chester Bohara, an Air Force Veteran.

Velma was the consummate homemaker as a military wife, traveling the country and abroad, making each place home for her family. She had a passion for reading and gardening, and adored her six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Velma will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Chester, but she will remain forever in the hearts of her family.
