W. R. Hamilton, 76, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away Monday, January 12 at a local nursing home. Services will be 11 am Friday, January 16 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Moore and Rev. Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana. Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Thursday, January 15 at the funeral home. Mr. Hamilton was born August 16, 1932 in Brady, TX. to William R. and Ida B. (Stansbury) Hamilton. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1950 to 1971 before his retirement. During his military career he served in Korea and Vietnam. W. R worked for Baylor University maintenance for 21 years and Nowicki Realtors for 10 years. He was a member of Lacy Lakeview Baptist Church and enjoyed making candy for everyone at Christmas. His greatest love was watching and taking care of the birds in his backyard and caring for his hanging baskets. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bert Hamilton, Lee "Tooter" Hamilton and Bill Hamilton, sister, Sandra Proctor, step daughter, Laurill Hunter and great grandson, John-David Hamilton.,Survivors include his Wife, Pat Hamilton of Lacy Lakeview, Daughter, Ruth Roberson and husband Bruce of Perryton, Sons, David Hamilton and wife Sandy of Duncanville, Richard Hamilton and wife Giovanna of Allen, Robert Hamilton,and Ray Hamilton both of Lubbock, Charles Hamilton of Frisco, Step daughter, Paula Jordan of Corsicana, Brothers, Guy Hamilton of Houston, James Hamilton of Hattisburg, Brother in law, Bill Proctor of Granbury, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
