Walter Kuehl, 54, of Riesel passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Kitson officiating. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bellmead Funeral Home. Walter was born April 7, 1955 in Mart to Walter H. and Bernice (Koester) Kuehl. He graduated Riesel in 1973, married Gail E. Hoffman, July 2, 1976 in Elk. He was a member and Elder of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was active in McLennan Co. Fire Association, Riesel V. F. D., Lions Club, also Athletic Boosters, football and softball official. He was Executive Vice President, Texas First State Bank of Riesel, past employee of Citizen National Bank of Waco and 1st National Bank of Mart. He attended M. C. C. and Tarleton State University. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and his family.He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Gail of Riesel; daughter, Kristen Cabbiness and husband Jason of Hallsville; son, Kris Kuehl and wife Sarah of Houston; sister, Janis Minchew of Riesel and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be : Keith Koester, Ken Koester, Dewain Denke, Roger Fitzpatrick, John Paul Banta, Tim Jander. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church of Riesel or the Riesel V.F.D.
