Walter William Horton, 83, of Chalk Bluff passed away in the
early hours of Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his residence.
Graveside services will be 11 am Thursday, July 28 at
Goodall Cemetery near China Spring , Texas with Rev. Michael Tice officiating.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, July 27, at Bellmead Funeral Home.
Walter was born August 11, 1932 in McLennan County, Texas to
William Harvey and Artence (Bailey) Horton Wetch. He served his country honorably
as a member of the Army National Guard and on July 14, 1979 he married Cynthia
Rose Knecht. Walter was a lifelong resident of Waco and was an avid fisherman,
hunter and competition shooter. He was one of the founding members of the
Centex Rifle and Pistol Club.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson,
Levi Sanford.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; his sons, Walter Horton
Jr. and wife Loretta, and Wayne Horton; his daughter, Annette Babb and husband,
Ted; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Jean
Tice and husband, Ronald, Tencie Whitlock and husband, Rick, Ray Horton and
wife, B. J., Trilton Horton, Donald Horton, Carolyn Biediger and husband Louie,
(deceased) Roxie Jackson and husband Bill and Ricky Paul Wetch and wife, Jobeth;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will
be, Bill Knecht and D. O. Wilkerson.
