Wilburn Fleischhauer, 79, of Riesel, passed away Saturday, September 4 at a local nursing home. Services will be 10 am Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Friedens E & R United Church of Christ in Riesel with Paul Sabov officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Friedens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mr. Fleischhauer was born April 2, 1931 in Otto, Texas to Paul and Lydia (Meyer) Fleischhauer. He was a retired Air Force Sr. Msgt, owned Wilburn's Restaurant in Riesel for over 20 years, was a member of the Riesel Masonic Lodge and past Commander of Mart V.F.W. Post 14026. He was preceded in death by his wife Erna Fleischhauer on August 19, 2007. Survivors include his children Donald Fleischhauer and wife Dorothy of Bartlett, Tennessee, Deborah Barker and husband Roger of Victoria, Audrey Doskocil of Hallsburg, Thomas Fleischhauer and wife Tonya of Hewitt and Kenneth Fleischhauer and wife Kathy of Riesel; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wendell Clark, Jim Kroll, Ryan Niles, Michael Reeves, Eddy Thompson and Michael Wells. Memorials may be made to Friedens E & R United Church of Christ.
