Willie Madison Scott, 98 went to be with the Lord on Oct. 25 at Plaza of Mansfield Nursing Home. Services will be 2 pm Thursday, Oct. 28 at Northside Church of Christ with Doug Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Willie was born November 12, 1911 in Waco, Texas to Jard Henry and Lettie Francis (Blackman) Scott. He married Mildred Josephine Dixon on March 11, 1943 and she remained the love of his life for 63 years. Willie served his country in the United States, Air Force for eleven years. While stationed in Munich, Germany, Willie and Mildred were able to travel throughout Europe. Upon returning to the United States, Willie founded "Willie's Caf�" on the square in downtown Waco, serving the Waco business community. The Caf� was his life for many years. His children have many happy memories of working in the family owned business. Willie's work ethic was the source of inspiration to his family. He loved his family dearly and served his Lord in his daily life. He always looked forward to a challenging game of dominoes during frequent family get togethers. Willie was preceded in death by parents, sisters Edna Smith and Nora Glenn, along with brothers, Alfred, Cecil and Dean Scott. Survivors include his sons, W. M. Scott and wife Anna of Arlington, Charles Scott and wife Felicia of Waco; daughters Carolyn Wills and husband Douglas of Grapevine, Arlene Harris and husband Danny of Arlington, Shirley Culverhouse and husband E. T. of Waco and Molly Simcik; brother Donald Scott of Waco. Willie also has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. His love extended to Charles Matthys, honorary son.
